You will learn:

TWO-DAY FIRE COURSE INCLUDED - Everything listed above in the two-day education fire course.

WARM UP - Flying loads to a confined area with high/low recon techniques, aircraft performance and density altitude considerations, and wind considerations.  

BUCKET PLACEMENT - Pickup and set downs, understand the importance of the positioning of the bucket.

DIPPING PROCEDURES - Conducting high/low recons. Consideration for dipping the bucket at various dip sites (i.e. lakes, rivers, ponds). Importance of conducting and how to do a bucket check at the dip site.

DROP PROCEDURES & TERMINOLOGY - Reading the terrain, density altitude and wind conditions. Conducting high/low reckons. trail vs. spot drops, and rotor wash management that could affect the fire. Important terminology specific to making drops.   

BELLY HOOK - Procedures and considerations on flying the bucket when hooked to the cargo hook of the helicopter.

SIMULATED CHECKRIDE - Perform requirements needed to pass Government Fire Card checkride.
